We custom make and mask our light bars for optimum glow and reflection inside the boards, while limiting the visibility of LED "dots" and too much distracting upward light. The Smoke board comes standard with a white bar, and the Ruby with red.
Bars can be replaced by removing the musician-side left truss rib (unscrew left feet and top screws), pulling out the existing bar, and sliding the new one through the light bar notches in the ribs until it hits the end.
You can drastically change the look of the board with different colors, but check the specs below - red acts as a natural light filter so not all lights are compatible with the Ruby board.
The light can be turned on or off by plugging it in to your 12v center negative power supply (most standard guitar power supplies) or center negative 12v adapter. Most 12v adapters are not center negative - make sure you are using the correct one to avoid the risk of shock, fire, or general equipment destruction or burn-out.
The specs:
17" tube with 1 foot cord
0.2 pounds
heat resistant polycarbonate tube
rated for 50,000 hours of light
12v connector
bright, steady light
Colors:
Red Brightest in Ruby board, a little more subtle in Smoke; comes standard with Ruby
Cool White Good in Ruby and Smoke - shows true acrylic color through the board and white shines through the holes; comes standard with Smoke
Blue Turns Smoke board a purplish-blue, not suggested for Ruby - the red acrylic filters out all the light so the only glow is through the holes and doesn't light the board or logo plate.
Green Turns Smoke a bright light green; not suggested for Ruby as the red acrylic filters out the light so the board looks dull red with green coming through the holes. Awful unless you're a Christmas band
